Yes, as a base to stay. Quite close to the Lake District, however, you would need to have transport. Not a great deal to see within walking distance.

Fabulous cottage, brilliant locatation so very peaceful just what we needed for a break. The welcome from the owner was so lovely she did all she could to make us feel at home.

We could not fault the positioning as it is close to both the Lake District and an unspoilt and uncommercial beach (Allonby,etc).
